The neighborhood has a curving streets with open park areas running throughout the entire neighborhood. In the centre of the community is set aside ten acres of crystal lake and springvale park with spacious grounds that are landscaped with rare trees and shrubs, many of which are a new varieties to Atlanta. The neighborhood is provided with nations first streetcar system that provides a better means of transit from Inman Park to downtown. Many of the Atlanta’s most prominent citizens took up residency at Inman Park. Springvale Park and leisurely strolls around Crystal Lake are a good picnic spot for the families leaving around Inman Park. The community has churches giving it a spiritual feeling. Around 1880s the Park was a good place to live with a peaceful environment and a healthy neighborhood. By the beginning of 1910, the communities future begin to decline. The Victorian mood architecture started getting a feeling of extinction. Greater mobility with motorcar started touching the privacy of the neighborhood leading many families to move from the area. With the expiring of zonal restrictions from the area lead to the construction of many new smaller homes and apartments and business. Most of the elegant homes of the Inman Park converted into small apartments thus loosing the original glory and left it with nothing more than a little memory. The city passed a blanket rezoning ordinance bringing the community to the lowest point in its decline leaving the lakes to clog with garbage and uncut weeds. From a beautiful picnic spot it became a mosquito ridden swamp and was drained. But no one protested not even when a portion of the pavement was removed for the convenience of the motorists. Junk cars were lined in the streets and neglect was rampant. The first execution of a suburban living was forgotten. It became a casualty of culture that choose to forget things that are old. But not all had forgotten Inman Park. There were some who did not choose to forget it and let it die. Soon they were joined by other urban pioneers and Inman Park began to rise again. Houses were renovated and the new residents were reweaving the fiber of a neighborhood and creating a living community of people who cared for the nature and also for each other. Before Inman Park could really become respectable neighborhood again things were worked out to change the zonal pattern. The entire area was zoned industrial and commercial. The entire neighborhood was zoned back to residential. The people of the community worked together to save what we today call a healthy neighborhood.
