Weight Watchers is the most well-known and recognized diet plan today. With endorsements from celebrity members such as Jenny McCarthy to Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, it is no wonder the Weight Watchers brand has become a household name.

Weight Watchers offers its members two diet plans to choose from, the Flex Points plan and the Core plan. Depending on your lifestyle you can choose the plan that is better suited for you. The key to both plans are to eat everything in moderation with an emphasis on portion control, while still being able to enjoy your favorite foods.

The Core Plan
Exactly how does the Weight Watchers Core Plan work? The Core Food List with such foods as vegetables and fruits, non-creamy soups, high fiber and other cereals that do not have a lot of added sugar, fat-free milk products, condiments, whole wheat pasta, potatoes, brown rice, grains, poultry, lean meats, eggs, fish, healthy oils, coffee, sugar-free beverages and tea is based on energy density. In a nutshell, this means that the Weight Watchers Core Plan contains foods that meet the low energy density requirements meaning that these foods contain only a small number of calories for every ounce of food. These foods will actually make you feel full and more satisfied, but in reality you are consuming fewer calories. You will be able to mix and match these foods to your hearts desire! You will also learn how to stay on top of being aware of hunger and fullness. In this way, you will not be tempted to overeat.

The Flex Points Plan
This plan is really easy to follow, you will be given a set amount of points that you will have daily and each food has a point value.

If you were ever curious about how the plan works or weather or not the Weight Watchers program would work for you, now is your chance to try the Weight Watchers program for free. Your free membership is web based and offers you a chance to find out if this program is a fit for you.

Your free Weight Watchers membership will give you access to the Weight Watchers interactive tools such as the points calculator, free recipes and a customized meal planner. You can also sign up for the membership forum which is a great way to share recipes, offer support and gain support through the entire process from other members.

The Free Weight Watchers program is offered for seven days from the date you decide to sign up. You will need to go to www.weightwatchers.com/free to enroll in this program. You will be asked to complete the on line profile, it is important to answer each question truthfully because your customized diet plan will be built according to the answers you give here. On the seventh day you can decide if the program is a right fit for you, if not you are allowed to cancel your membership without obligation.

Whether you are obese or just wanting to shed a few pounds or simply looking to change bad eating habits and looking for ways to modify your diet, I highly recommend signing up for weight watchers for free and giving the plan a go. With its proven track record for weight loss and weight control it is no wonder Weight Watchers is so highly recommended by doctors and dietitian alike.
