Keeping Fit For The Wedding

By: Jim Brown

For most brides, the months and weeks before the much awaited wedding date is quite hectic. One goes through a whole jumble of emotions which range from euphoria, joy, excitement, anxiety and a great deal of stress especially when the bride is handling the wedding preparations which is typical as most brides want everything to be nothing less than perfect on that special day.

This perfection requirement is more anticipated on the big day itself. Everyone expects the bride to be beautiful and all glowing as she walks down the aisle to marry her fateful prince. Maintaining beauty and keeping fit may not be an easy fit for a pressure laden bride. Here are a few significant tips that can help keep brides on their twinkle toes.

If the suit fits, wear it. Brides find most pressure in fitting into that esteemed usually slim-fit wedding gown. A good number of brides get all ambitious and bold in choosing a dress that is a size smaller than they actually are. This is with the thought that they can shed all those extra weight during the months or weeks before the wedding day. This leads to crash diets and unreasonable eating habits up to the point where some women even refuse to eat something leading to more strain and trauma.

Skipping meals or eating unhealthy is not a good idea, whether you have a good motivating factor or not. It only leads to one thing - you being unhealthy. And unhealthy brides could mean sick brides. You would not want to be sporting a cold during the ceremony now, would you? To avoid this stressful phase, brides should know their limits and choose a well fitted wedding dress. Eat right and stay healthy is still the best option.

Nervous tensions could cause skin break outs. And an acne laden skin is a nightmare for any bride. A bride should be all beauty and grace on her wedding day and not hide behind the veil. Although make-up can help out, nothing beats healthy glowing skin. The first advice is to keep stress levels where they should be: down-low. Worries show on your face may it be in the form of pimples or wrinkles so lighten up and relax.

Another good tip is to drink plenty of water and go for a detoxification diet. These will keep your system clean and a cleanse system equals healthy skin. It is equally important that you get enough sleep. They don't call it beauty sleep for nothing. You may also want to arrange for skin facials or treatments before the wedding day, if you prefer. You may go ahead and get a manicure and pedicure on the side so that your fingers and toes will also look pristine and at their best on the great day.

In keeping up with your health, you need time to distress and let go of all the negative elements. Your best bet would be to take yoga classes or visit a spa. The former would not only develop your posture and flexibility but could also improve your energy levels, concentration and relaxation. Getting to a good spa is a great way of pampering yourself. Indulging in a full body massage with aromatherapy oils can relieve your stressed and tired muscles and also nourish your skin with their essential elements.
