Massage For Everyone

By: Ben Needles

Do you have a busy lifestyle? Is your spare time limited? Do you end a working week weary and tense? Then a massage could be the desperate relief you are looking for and learning how to give the perfect massage could be the ideal way to fit this often viewed luxury expenditure into your life.

Learning to give a body massage, head massage or even a facial massage to yourself and to your partner or family members can be easy and fun too. Once you have the skills, which takes just a short time to learn the basics, then you and your families happiness and well being could be much improved
.
We all know that massage has lots of health benefits, but perhaps do not realise just how many benefits there are. There are three main benefits for the body and mind:

Physically - Muscles become relaxed, less tense, giving you a wider range of mobility. Endorphins are released, easing pain, including migraines.

Emotionally - Tension, stress, anxiety and emotions are released, relaxing the mind. Concentration and focus is improved
.
Physiologically - White blood cell and Europhile counts are increased, improving the immune system and aiding in the treatment of, or fighting of illness.

These three main benefits combined, lead to a whole feeling of emotional, physical and spiritual well being, enabling you to cope with the challenges of everyday life, whether that be going to school, staying at home taking care of a family or going out to work everyday. Every life style holds its own stresses and can often leave us weary. This in turn makes facing our daily duties and challenges that much harder and so the cycle of tiredness, stress and generally not feeling 100%, goes on.

As well as these obvious health benefits, learning to perform massages yourself has financial benefits too. Visiting a trained massage therapist, health spa or massage parlour can be expensive and in times where we often need to tighten our purse strings, luxuries like these have to be forfeited.

Ironically, we have to forfeit one of the things that could actually benefit us most in those harder times of our lives. By learning how to do a massage yourself, you cut down the costs significantly. After the initial small investment in a teach yourself massage DVD or book, some massage and essential oils, relaxing candles and soothing music, then the costs are nothing other than a small amount of time put aside to learn the basics and to treat yourself or your loved ones.

This leads on to yet another benefit to yourselves. Once you have the skills then a massage can be fitted into your day or week to suit you. Just half an hour once a week will see significant health and well being benefits. Compare this to the time taken to visit a massage therapist or health spa, not to mention actually finding the time in the day to visit. Making an appointment to suit you can be difficult if not impossible for some. This way you fit your relaxing massage in whenever it suits you - in the morning before work, in the evening once the chores are done and the children are tucked up in bed, at the weekends - absolutely any time at all to suit you and your life. It truly is the perfect answer to gaining total well being for those of us living a busy, hectic and stressful lifestyle
