Oil paintings reproductions: where do they come from?

By: Yougesh

The Chinese people have always had a strong connection to art. In fact, Chinese painting is known to be one of the oldest artistic customs in the world. They started with decorative paintings consisting patterns and designs, not pictures. Only many years later (403 B.C) Chinese artists began painting pictures.
It is no surprise then, that the largest manufacture of oil painting reproductions is located in china. Many companies, such as ART4ALL, have studios in varies locations throughout china, ranging in size and number of artists working in them. All studios hire unknown Chinese artists to hand make oil paintings reproductions, which are later on sold door-to-door all over the world.
Artists that are hired by the larger companies, usually have at least 10 years of experience prior starting to work for them. The more famous and difficult paintings are done by the most skilled artists; those ones who have 20 or more years of experience. These artists acquire their experience by studying art at the various academies for fine arts, and later working at local art galleries. However, due to high demand for oil painting reproductions, the skilled artists are “snatched” to the bigger studios, those of the large companies, such as ART4ALL, that are successful in selling the oil paintings around the world door-to-door technique as well as on the internet.
All paintings are skillfully handmade; no Hi-tech involved. The artist actually copies the masterpiece, and not just makes a replica, copping the fine art, to a museum standard, makes it very difficult to distinguish the original from the reproduction.
Making a handmade oil painting reproduction is a long process; sometimes it can take as long as 14 days before an oil painting can leave the studio and shipped to the client. Oil paintings are traditionally made in layers of oil paint. Every layer is thicker than the one before. Waiting for the paint to dry between each layer is time consuming, but that is what gives a handmade oil painting its unique look, much different than a print or a picture.
Actually, there are two main characteristics that differentiate a newly experienced artist from a talented one, which has many years of experience behind him: accuracy and the ability to copycat the signatory style of the original artist. Accuracy means the ability to paint the objects, no matter of the size, as clearly and as accurate as possible using only the paintbrushes as tools. An artist that does not have a lot of experience would start with paintings that the objects seem farther away, and a little blurry. Copycatting the style of the original artist is even more difficult. Each artist as his own unique style such as, small brush stocks, circular brush stocks or emphasizing an object in a particular way. Learning the particular signatory style, and being able to mimic the artist is a learning process that take a long time to master.
Today, the leading wall décor are oil paintings. When buying an oil painting reproduction, be it of a famous masterpiece or an original painting, be it at a door step oil painting sell or a purchase at an art gallery, the painting was most likely to have been made by a Chinese artist. Oil painting reproduction companies are always striving to provide the customers with a competitive alternative to the pricing structure that exists within the established trade. The oil painting reproduction companies are dedicated to provide the top quality fine art oil painting reproductions all over the world due to the talent of the Chinese art community today.
