Promote Your Business: B2B Mainly, Exhibition Supplemented

By: Jasonlaochen

Recently, the news came. Many giant companies bankrupted. The world economy is in deep depression. Industries, especially SMEs wonder how to survive and promote their sales, to take part in Exhibitions or login with the B2B websites?

B2B (business-to-business), also known as e-biz, is the exchange of products, services, or information between businesses. B2B is the further stage of services, which emerged along with the development of productivity and the evolvement of social division of labor. Traditional transaction between business and business often costs a lot time and fund as sales and stocks may cost too much. Through B2B, all the processes of a deal, from the initial impression, the price comparison, the bargain, signing, delivery and customer service, can be done on line. B2B removing many businesslike processes and cost may reduce the operating cost of a company.

According to the report of the Xinhua News Agency on Oct.17, 2008, the status of B2B is keeping rising as the adjustment of global industry. B2B has already been a new impetus in driving global economy. In the future, the key of world trade competition will be the competition of service trade.

Every coin has two sides. B2B is not an exception. Though B2B has so many advantages, it still has some shortcomings. On line transaction through B2B is more convenient and cheaper, but everything people get is from the screen, everything is in a virtual environment. The information people get may be one sided.

Exhibition may compensate the disadvantage of B2B. Exhibition is the transaction between companies in a specific region, a specific time. Being a real environment, it makes all the companies communicate face to face. It can introduce and propaganda a company. Because it is an off-line activity, it is faster to build mutual credit and get to know customers’ requirement. Exhibition is not cheap yet.

As most of the SMEs don’t have great reputation, they need to let others know them. Most SMEs are not adequate in capital and brains, so that they are not capable of building their own way to make others know them. So they need the intermediate to help them build their images in the buyers. B2B are the intermediates.

To let others know them, the first step SMEs should do is login with a B2B website. You may be known and inquired by some buyers. You can even have a very good business on line. Then in order to impress the potential buyers, you may take part in an exhibition hosted by the B2B company. You may be known and trusted by the potential buyers and of course you can get to know the potential buyers better as well. Taking the two-pronged approach, SMEs may get more buyers.

To promote your business, B2B can’t be exempted. Exhibition can also strengthen your image. B2B is the main course, Exhibition is the indispensable supplement.
