Reasons for Excessive Perspiration

We sweat when our body needs to regulate the body temperature. It is our bodys way to cool itself from possible overheating of the body systems especially when we perform physically demanding activities. Simply put, our body produces sweat to cool it when warmed up. Sweating occurs naturally when body is exposed to high temperature, intense exercise, and emotional situations that trigger nervousness, embarrassment, fear, or stress. Hyperhidrosis has 2 different causes.

Primary Hyperhidrosis - The sufferer usually has this condition due to genetic makeup. Reasons for secondary excessive perspiration are anxiety conditions, cancer, characinoid syndrome, glucose control disorders, heart and lung disease, menopause, spinal cord injury, stroke and infections. Excessive perspiration may also appear as a symptom of a traumatic experience.

The sufferers of excessive perspiration have one common symptom: wetness. The wetness or trickle of sweat usually is concentrated on the underarm.
