The reasons to emigrate to New Zealand are wide and diverse. These magical islands entice migrants from all over the world who wish to enjoy the benefits of the Kiwi lifestyle and the wondrous natural beauty that surrounds residents at all times. New Zealand has become in the last decade or so one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. The stunning countryside however is not only a reason for the country's growth as a tourist destination; those wishing to emigrate also see this as a motivating factor to make the move down under. New Zealand sits in the South Pacific Ocean and is made up of two predominant islands, referred to as the north and south islands. As well as these two larger islands, there are also smaller outlying islands that make up a unique and enthralling archipelago. In terms of size New Zealand is around the same as Great Britain although rather than having a population of sixty million, across the islands a mere four million people reside. With such a small number of inhabitants space is in no way a premium, everyone has enough room to enjoy life to its fullest. The natural splendour on offer is unbelievably diverse, being used as the setting of the recent Lord of the Rings trilogy; it has so many different climates that it warrants its place as the earthly representation of Middle Earth. With mountain ranges, vast open plains and a coastline that simply ooze beauty, it is truly a world within a world.

As well as the surroundings however many choose to emigrate to New Zealand for the fantastic Kiwi culture and lifestyle. It is a startling fact that the majority of Kiwis live around half an hour away from the coast by car. Subsequently pursuits such as surfing, swimming and fishing are extremely popular. Kiwis in general are mad about their sports and many of those wishing to emigrate hope to involve themselves in this active lifestyle. Naturally rugby is an extremely popular sport although cricket and golf are also well represented; a recent report stating that per capita there are more golf courses in New Zealand than anywhere else in the world. It is not purely summer pursuits however, with many mountain resorts skiing and snowboarding are also popular in the winter months.

In terms of cuisine New Zealand has rapidly improved in recent years, especially when considering the diversity of menus on offer. A drive to incorporate the cultures and cuisine of the many migrant peoples has been evident and now many towns and cities in New Zealand include Malaysian, Indonesian and Japanese restaurants to name a few. Understandably a meal is never complete without wine and New Zealand can easily cope with the demands of the most discerning connoisseur. In fact many people choose to emigrate to New Zealand purely for the sublime selection of wines on offer. Wine making is a burgeoning industry on the islands, whilst the reputation of these national tipples is growing rapidly.
